Although this is a flower mantis, it has rounded eyes instead of the typical pointed found in flower mantis. They are a range of greens, with striking blue eyes. The female has hellow “eye” spots on the wings after molting into adulthood. This small West African mantis is very aggressive and will attack prey larger than itself and will chase its prey down. As hatchlings the smaller D. Melanogaster fruit flies are needed.
