The Spiny Flower Mantis is an extraordinary specimen that is relatively aggressive. It has elaborate “threat displays” using its wings to appear larger than it is. It has two #9 shapes on its wings that could emulate “eyes” during the display. Its body is covered with spiny protrusions and colored bands. This mantis is typically green, but can be red, pink,or yellow. Its camouflage is so advanced it has been known to sit on a stem and prey will try to pollinate it.
